CCHSC AmeriCorps VISTA

AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a full-time, year-long federal program (365 days) focused on fighting poverty by building the capacity of nonprofits and local agencies rather than providing direct service.

Cherokee County Health Services Council places VISTA members at nonprofits within Cherokee and neighboring counties for a one-year term. In exchange for their service, members receive a living allowance and can choose between a cash stipend or an education award upon completion.
